Not able to leave bed once inside.

On rare occasion, when I sleep in a bed, it changes it to day but im still in the chat screen and i am not allowed to leave my bed. In order to get out of bed, I need to close my game and re-launch it. I have not had this happen to me in single player, only on a vanilla 1.8 server. I have absolutely no idea how this is caused or any other way to get out of my bed than re-launching my game. I'm sorry i couldnt be more helpful about it.
