When ever I try to play any form of 1.8 minecraft there is no sound.

There just isnt sound when i try to play 1.8 nor any of the pre 1.8.1 I checked the game sounds all 100 and checked my systems sound also maxed, no sound is being put through. Also as i try to load up any 1.8 profile it takes around 4-5mins to fully start up. When i play any 1.7.10 and prior the sound and loading works fine it just seems to be with 1.8 so far.
