When viewed from below and above, end portal breaking particles are missing texture

I killed the Ender Dragon, and I went below the portal. I broke the end portal block, and the breaking particles were the classic pink and black missing texture. Sorry for the F3 GUI. I also went above the portal.
As far as I know, it has happened since pre-4 and I think it affects all versions after, even 1.8.2 pre-7.
