Map item does not display player location in corresponding map.

Map items no longer display PLAYER location while in corresponding map or along edge of other maps. I have 7 maps zoomed out to maximum. These maps all have at least 2 copies and are placed in frames on a wall. I can still see the green marker which indicates our base and it is in the correct place. What I am speaking to is PLAYER location is no longer shown. These maps worked up until today and suddenly stopped working while I was exploring on horseback with my map open.
