Flying Fire Charges

When you stand in this area in my world, flying fire charges are seen popping up for 0.5 seconds every 3 seconds. I don't know what caused this to happen , but a long time ago(when I was playing 1.6) I spawned a ghast and killed it. The ghast was shooting fire charges. Look closely in the picture.
