Infinite Void

Hello my account name is DarrylDixon and I was on the SkyDoesMinecraft server and fell into the void, but strangely I did not die I was just infinitely falling in the void. This seemed strange as even when in creative this kills you. I have reached -100 Thousand K by this point and am wondering if this could be a client or host problem, If you could respond quickly that would be lovely.
