Performance still not as good as in pre - 1.8

I have played the game with no performance problems before 1.8, which made me very happy. When 1.8 got released i haven't played it at all, because the closest i can get to a smooth game is everything set to fast and 1 chunk view distance. Now it's just little bit better, i still get bad fps near forests or oceans. I really hope you fix the problem for some people with older systems.
