Minecraft Folder won't appear

So Basically I downloaded the full version of mine craft on my Mac with the account and everything and it all worked fine until i noticed that there were no .minecraft folders. That sucked because I wanted to get text packs and adventure maps. All my friends mac's have the folders so I must have deleted it accidentally. I have tried to redownload miner craft but the folders still didn't appear. Please help me figure out how to get the folders back onto my Mac.
PS Is there a robot reading this If there is please pass it over to a human because i really want to get adventure maps so this is URGENT
