Cannot launch 1.8 Windows 7

Minecraft 1.8 is not launching after many attempts.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected 1.8 to launch.

What actually happened was...:
Minecraft did not launch and crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select the version 1.8
2. Click Play
3. voila!
