Game crashing in Minecraft Version 1.8

When playing version 1.8 game crashes after a few seconds.

Game opening using Launcher 1.5.3

Slow to open and after a few seconds the game is crashing.
Error message Java(TM) Platform SE Binary has stopped working. A problem has caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close and notify you if a solution is available.

On the thread on launcher it says "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded running 3817ms behind, skipping 76 tick(s)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java and the problem persists.
I have changed to run version 1.7.10 and the problem stops and the game is operating normally but means I am running an older version.
