Chicken's going invisible/underground inside fence.

I built a "pen" for chickens. At first I threw some eggs in there, got two baby chickens and I left for a few minutes and they were gone. Then i lured a couple adults over, left and they were gone. But then I heard chicken noises and figured out that they were coming from the pen area.
