Many useful blocks not in creative gui can't be given with /give

stone Double slabs have a name of minecraft:double_stone_slab, yet if I try to give myself one with give, it doesn't work. The problem with that is that I can't give myself seamless double slabs anymore (I would set the seamless attribute to true), as well as you can't get portals. I could still probably get them in single-player via inventory editors or manually editing the save, but it is 100% impossible during multi-player. Either you should make these names work for /give, or you could make item ids be able to be used somehow. (perhaps via "id:", "#:", "#", or "num:"?)
