Using Windows 8.1 my screen, GUIs and blocks flash white.

Using Windows 8.1 my screen, GUIs and blocks flash white. Ive used my laptop before and it ran Minecraft smoothly with no flashing. But as soon as i updated to windows 8.1 it started. This has caused me to get head aches and has stopped me from playing minecraft. I believe that Minecraft has some sort of compatibility issues with Windows 8.1.
