Light level doesn't update after fire has broken blocks

I wanted to get rid of the roofed forest outside of my house, so i decided to burn it. After all the logs and leaves where burnt and there was nothing left, I found out that there was still lightning coming out of no where. I tried placing and breaking blocks at where the lightning came from but it didn't work.
