Iron door stays powered when retrieving the redstone block

What I expected to happen was:
When I destroy/retrieve the Redstone Block, the door would close.

What actually happened was:
When I destroyed/retrieved the Redstone Block, the door isn't closed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1-Place a door.
2-Put a Redstone Block next to the door.
3-Destroy the Redstone Block.
4-Note that the door remains open (not closed ).
