Hoppers doesn't work with EnderChest

I don't know if it works as intended, but i noticed that the hopper can not take items from the enderchast and that is a really bad thing, cause i was thinking about a machine where i need this king of "trick".
Is this a bug or it works as intended ?

Sorry for the useless "Issue" but i wanted to know this.
