redstone under halfslab

when i tried to put redstone under upper halfslab the redstone replaced the halfslab

to activate the bug put upper halfslab above a solid block and then right click with redstone dust under on the solid block under the upper halfslab and the half slab will be replaced by the redstone what i thought that will happen is that i wouldnt be able to place the redstone dust
