Rabbits get into blocks and die

Rabbits are so sweet, but... they die very often. I keep my rabbits in the house and it seems like they get stuck in the floor (dark oak), just a half of block or whole block under its surface and it causes death. They can get out of block when I use a carrot and it saves them. In the other case, I find their drops everywhere. :/
