NBT Pick Block On Mac Extremely Glitchy

When I press ctrl + r, it doesn't give me the NBT item. It gives me nothing. I can spam it and it wil work after a while, but then it stops working.

Other notes about MC settings:
As I have a magic mouse, Place Block is 'C' and Pick Block is "R".
