Sun / Moon is Visible in the Void with VBO's Enabled

When "VBO's: On" is selected the sun or moon (time of day dependant) can be seen in the void area of the world. This does not occur if VBO's are off. Screenshot "....54.jpg" shows VBO's On and screenshot "....35.jpg" shows VBO's Off. Resource pack has no effect.
