Breaking Texture Issue

When standing on top of a block and trying to break it from above, the cracks or breaking texture or whichever you'd call it doesn't appear or is delayed in appearing, though it still breaks. I only saw this on a crafting table and oak wood, and haven't checked other blocks.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Place a crafting table (mine had been under a tree, if that changes anything)
2. Stand on top of said crafting table
3. Break it with a wooden axe, I didn't try any other tools.
