3D Anaglyph messed up and uncomfortable to look at

When using the 3D Anaglyph feature, the 3D looks strange. Instead of providing a sense of depth, the objects pop out of the screen. I personally hate this, but that's not the point. It makes looking at your HUD and the + in the center of your screen VERY uncomfortable to look at. Have a look at the screenshot attached to this bug report.
