Naturally grown pumpkins not being broke or pulled by sticky pistons or by moving the block under them

was trying to design a pumpkin farm and well, the pumpkin part wasn't co-operating if i'm just doing something wrong let me know but i was 99% sure this should have worked

Edit : the pumpkins are only not being pulled but when pushed they still break
