FPS Drop Based on Orientation

When walking while facing East or South, there is a severe stuttering. My game reports FPS drop from around 30 down to 15-19. While facing any other direction, walking does not affect FPS. In fact, I seem to be able to walk South or East, as long as I'm not facing either of those two directions.

This occurs regardless of the weather conditions.
