Cave Spiders and food are a bit buggy

I was playing Minecraft on a server, and I found a mineshaft with a spawner so I trapped it. But I found out that they attack through stairs and go through blocks. When I ate my melons to heal, sometimes the food psrticles and sound play continuosly, but don't have an animation and don't heal you.
