Minecart view Switching

Turning a corner in a minecart switched me from third person view to first person, is this on purpose?

-EDIT:

This only happens when turning a corner and a block is above the player, it may or may not have to do with the camera going into the block?
This does happen with transparent blocks such as leaves.
