Stat.drop does not report items dropped while in inventory screen

When using a scoreboard objectives set to stat.drop, the game only increases the score when you push q from your hotbar.
If you open your inventory, and either hover over an item and click q, or if you drag an item out, the drop item score does not increase.

What should happen is no matter how the player drops the item, the score should increase.
