Cannot connect to Minecraft Realms

I am attempting to access a realm that I bought and created to play with a friend. I have had no issues connecting to it for a week. Today I attempted to connect and was given the error message "Failed to connect to server" and "java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information:" I restarted Minecraft and attempted to connect again several times. I restarted my computer and still was not able to connect. I verified to make sure that Java version was updated, still cannot connect. My friend is able to connect and play on MY realm with no problem.
