Arrows bouncing off of armor stands without destroying them

When in creative, I can shoot an armor stand and it gets destroyed, but the arrow also bounces back towards me. In survival, I can do this but the armor stand doesn't break and the arrow bounces back, able to hit me. If I die from this, it says in the chat "Epicyes was killed by Epicyes".
