Daylight Sensor doesn't drop in 'night time' mode

I broke the Daylight Sensor with my hand while it was in 'Night Time' mode

*What I expected to happen was: the item drops

*What actually happened was: the Daylight Sensor was destroyed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place a Daylight Sensor in the ground
2. Change it to 'Night Time' mode
3. Break it

P.S.: the Item does drop normally if you break it while it is in 'Day time' mode
