Elder Guardian's spell causes crash

When the Elder Guardian attempts to apply mining fatigue III, the initial sound effect plays and the window turns light blue, and minecraft crashes. Upon re-entering the game the debuff will be on me, and the game is fine until the duration on mining fatigue expires and the Elder Guardian attempts to re-apply it, once again crashing me with the same details.
