Breaking Door corruption/crash

Breaking a wooden door while a villager is attempting to open or close it crashes the game. In the case of 14w30c, this corrupted my save .
Possible cause:
Breaking a door doesn't break both halves at exactly the same time. In a tick one half is missing (replaced with air) while the remaining half is being activated by a villager, which attempts to activate its non-existent partner.
