MCPE freezes when notification pops up

Whenever playing survival/creative on the Minecraft PE App, the game always freezes when my device gives me a notification that my battery is low. At first, you would have to wait a few minutes until it unfroze, but exiting the app to home, then returning to it unfreezes it. This is a recent issue that recently came out maybe after the .9.4 or .9.5 update for Pocket Edition, but when 0.9.0 had just come out, I hadn't had the issue. Anyone else?
