Respawning In Infinite Ocean

In Minecraft PE v0.9.4, while fighting a zombie hoard in a pit (about 25 blocks from my bed and about 20 blocks from my original spawn point) I died. I didn't mind dying because I thought I would repawn somewhere nearby. Not so. I am spawning in a seemingly infinite ocean which is most assuredly not my spawn point. I can recreate this bug by dying again (drowning) and I continue to respawn in the infinite ocean.

Running on iPhone 5 iOS 7.1.2. Updating to MCPE v0.9.5 did not fix the bug.

(P.S. The bug reporter does not have a Projects drop down option for Minecraft PE, sorry.)
