seamless slabs no work

on command blocks, when i do the type of stone slab to /give me, i do 8/9
to do seamless stone/sandstone slabs, but instead it just gives me the normal slab, except in the hotbar it has missing texture, and in F3 mode it says seamless:false. plz fix!
