Can't select to enter world in Minecraft 1.7.10

I downloaded Minecraft 1.7.10 on my Windows laptop yesterday, (July 24) and created a few single-player worlds. But when I came back to the main menu, I couldn't click the options Play Selected World, Rename, Delete, or Re-create. The buttons seemed to have greyed out, as shown in the pic below.
