Unable to /playsound music discs

When I go to my .minecraft folder and look in assets, then in virtual, there is nothing there. I can't find the legacy folder, and i don't think I can use /playsound to play the music discs in game otherwise. I think it might have something to do with the most recent snapshot download, but I don't know for sure
