Bug with blocks after breaking them there still there visually but no collision box

I was in a cave mining today I broke a coal block I got the piece of coal but the block itself stayed. I was able to walk in it and everything when I placed a block where the coal was it just disappeared. In the screenshot below you can see that it's visually there but there is no collision box.
