Daylight sensor deactivates when leaf block under it decays.

When in creative mode, I was making a fountain in a tree, and I was breaking leaf blocks to create a path for the redstone, but the leaves started to decay. When the block under the sensor decayed, it was not broken by me, the active fountain deactivated in broad daylight.
