White Screen Issue

White Screen
What I expected to happen was...:
Run minecraft

What actually happened was...:
Launcher loaded and i clicked play and went to black screen then white nothing else not even the mojang logo

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Need ubuntu
2. . run the minecraft.jar with java 8 runtime
3. . And click play and white screen
