When digging straight down, an almost "x-ray" sort of scene appears.

What I expected to happen was just normally digging down.
Block delay as already reported contributes, but it gives you an "x-ray" scene of caves and lava and such.

To trigger the bug is simple. Be in creative and dig straight down.
