Enchantment Bug

In the past Monday i have purchased minecraft. I was playing in a world, before i get the original game, in a older version without the new enchantment system. Now with the original game in 1.7.10 version i cant use the new enchantment system in the same world. I have already create new worlds to test it but it keep not having the new enchantment system. What can i do to fix it?
