Minor freezes while turning

When using a Steelseries Sensei mouse, my game suffers from slight freezes while turning.
It doesn't happen while using my trackpad, which leads me to the conclusion the mouse is the problem here.

Messing around with the settings, it seems that turning down the polling rate improves gameplay.

Not sure why this is, but seemed worthwhile to report. Many people seemed to have similar problems when looking for a solution.
