Sitting, tamed wolves and cats will not stand after update

Put the summary of the bug you're having here:
I was playing in creative on a superflat world on 1.7.9 and had a dozen or so tamed cats and dogs that were sitting. They were able to stand and sit at my discretion without any issues. When my game updated to 1.7.10, I tried to make the animals stand, but they are all stuck on sitting. I tried pushing them into water to force them to stand, as some suggested, but they just went back to sitting when out of the water.

What I expected to happen was...:
I tried clicking on my animals to stand, and thus expected them to stand

What actually happened was...:
They remained sitting.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I'm sorry, I don't know how to reproduce it.
2. I tried to breed new animals to see if it was just animals from 1.7.9, but my new animals sat also.
