Can't hear certain things in singleplayer

I can't hear certain things such as placing blocks, mobs, and lava/water but this occurs only in single player

What I expected to happen was that I could hear it

But I even tried re installing version 1.7.10 but still nothing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start minecraft
2. Play a singleplayer world
3. You cant hear the things listed up there
