14w27b server does nothing

I just downloaded the 14w27b server.jar and tried to run it. The problems i ran into were the window is there, but the log and chat show blank, and i can not connect to it. I do not use bukkit. I have attached a screenshot of the server running, in which you can view its eternal state.
