Trapdoor misplaced side block on x axis

When a wooden/iron trapdoor is placed next to a block along the x-axis of the world, the trapdoor appears to be placed on the opposite side of the block, not being connected to the block it was placed on.

To recreate:
1. Place a block in an open space.
2. Place a trapdoor (wooden or iron) along the x-axis side of the block.
