the issue was minecraft just stoping and then crashing during my time building my great house :(

while building a 21x21 cobblestone house the game started to slow down the shortly after crashing. also after reopening my minecraft half of the house had..."ungenerated" and the grass blocks and water had returned to where they were as if i was never there.
