Endermites spin uncontrollably when spawned from an Enderman

When you hit an Enderman enough times, it spawns an Endermite. However, in this snapshot, if an Endermite spawns in, it just spins in circles, and never moves, even when the block below it is broken. They are also immune to damage.
This does not happen when you spawn them from eggs.
