redstone torch acting like still on side of block when you destroy the block

i was testing the new snapshot and i destoyed the STONE block (dont know if this affects other blocks) i had a redstone torch hanging on and when i destroyed the block the redstone torch stayed there and could be turned on and off and could power stuff

i thought the redstone torch fall into my inventory

1. place a block down
2. put a redstone torch on it
3. destroy the block
4. gaze at torch while it hangs there acting like its on a block forever (step not needed)
